Winterhalter shapes up for CAD revolution

October 2, 2013

Winterhalter has confirmed that it has now made BIM models of all its products, as the race among manufacturers to prepare for new standards in building and kitchen design gathers momentum.

The models, which it says are fully compatible with standard BIM software packages, are available for free to consultants, designers and operators, and include all relevant product data.

“Moving over to BIM will ultimately make everyone’s life easier — but right now it’s a steep learning curve for the industry,” says Paul Crowley, marketing manager of WinterhalterUK. “By producing BIM blocks this early, we’re trying to help make the whole process as painless as possible.”

Once the Winterhalter block is dropped into the kitchen design, it can be accessed to list all relevant data, such as power, water and waste, to help design the services and utilities. It includes all the information that a facilities management company may require.

Winterhalter will be updating its BIM library as new machines and accessories are launched. The PT pass-through machines it unveiled in the UK last month are already available as BIM blocks.
